I want these adidas shoes…!!!!

Boost? No. Springblade? Another no. (though they did send me pairs of both) adidas may be undertaking a media blitz for their high-tech new releases, but earlier today I happened to notice that they’ve quietly come out with a sequel to one of my favorite shoes from the past few years – the adidas adipure Gazelle.

The Gazelle 2 doesn’t look a whole lot different than the original, but the colors, oh the colors!

I saw this shoe and immediately fell in love. As someone who was born and raised in the suburbs of Hartford, Connecticut, the green and blue colorway immediately brought fond memories of the Hartford Whalers into my head.

I couldn’t resist heading over to YouTube to listen to Brass Bonanza:

Any shoe that reminds me of The Whale will be mine!

Since I’m always looking at the Running Warehouse because I’m obsessed, I saw this shoe a while ago. Kinda looks like Seahawks color too, not that I’m a fan of that team. Had a buddy in college from Hartford. Sorry to say, but I remember him laughing about the Whalers. My wife spent a year in Hartford in the mid 90s. I visited her a couple of times. Nice town. Never made it to the Mark Twain house.

As a Pens fan, I have the Whalers to thank at least partially for one Ron Francis, lol

You’re welcome! I’m still scarred by the Whalers demise, I was a huge hockey fan as a kid, but their move turned me off big time. Trying to like the Bruins now, but it’s hard to root for the old enemy. I need therapy I think….

Ewww…the Bruins? Why not just root for the Flyers and complete the picture :-p

If it makes you feel any better, the Blue Jackets aren’t half bad, are from my home state, and are playing in the East next year. I’m just pumped because they’re barely 2hrs away and will have to play the Pens next year, which means I’ll actually get a ticket!

hurray, the adipure gazelle wasn’t discontinued! Does anyone know what the “update” is to the 2 besides the color? I couldn’t tell much of a difference from the Adidas or running warehouse websites.

So the Springblade is not a figment of my imagination? It really exists?

  5. You just had to go and make me nostalgic for pre-southern expansion NHL, didn’t you…
