Unbreakable: The Western States 100

This trailer for Unbreakable, a movie about the 2010 Western States 100 ultramarathon, has been making the rounds recently. Figured I’d share it here as well as it’s one of those clips that really makes you want to head out for a long trail run. The movie is due to be released this Fall.

Just put in my pre-order on the 25th for a friend’s Christmas present. I think they ship on the 19th and need to be ordered by the 16th to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas.

  2. Adam Miarka says:

but where do we signup for updates?!? :-)

  3. What strikes me most, being new to the world of minimalist running, is how there is not a hint of a heel-strike among these guys who can run back to back to back to back marathons. Got my Hattori’s yesterday. Can’t wait to start my transition. First run tomorrow.

  4. Macmhagan says:

Does this movie document any of the women runners?

    • Pete Larson says:

No, don’t think so. I saw an explanation for why somewhere, and was
basically logistical – they had to choose just a few runners to allow
filming to be possible under the conditions and environment of the
race, and chose to focus on the male frontrunners.

  5. scottyboyswa2 says:

    Looks like an amazing documentary!

  6. Nate S. says:

Pete, I believe that the movie documents last years race in 2010.
