In a footwear world where most companies are looking to step back a bit from ultraminimal shoes, Nike appears poised to take it’s biggest step yet toward barefoot-style footwear. A reader just alerted me to a post on Nikeblog.com about the Nike Free Flyknit Hyperfeel (thanks Joel!). It combines a woven, sock-like flyknit upper, what look like flywire support elements, and an ultrathin, ultraflexible sole.
Details are scant right now, and this may just be a concept shoe, but Sneakeraddicts.com posted a bunch of photos, some of which can be seen below. Estimated release date is late 2013.
!!
interesting…this might make me like nike for once….though i doubt i’ll buy it
Nike does this every few years. Remember the Mayfly?
they still sell it, they only have a 100 mile life though…
That sole looks very much like the VIVOBAREFOOT insoles, don’t you think?
Maybe Nike have bought VIVOBAREFOOT and their patent?
nope, just getting around it with using squares instead of hexagons lol
We’ll they either bought them or don’t care about patents. Check out the new Free Knit 3.0 it uses the hex and looks EXACTLY like Vivo basically have a Vivo logo in the toe
Knowing Nike and there scummy self righteous ways they probably figure “what the hell” and even if they do something Nike will just run through the legal machine till Vivo goes out of business.
Really sad when the big business “innovators” bet up on the truly innovative bold hard working start ups.
Those look horrendous O_O
Yeah, I’m not crazy about the socks…

Heard these are being released today. Where do I get them?
i got these on sale in LA back in October. Really good minimalist running shoe. Just ran the Philly 26.2 and felt great (in relative terms).
