I just came across a preview video for the Altra Superior, which will be the second trail running shoe in Altra’s lineup alongside the Lone Peak. Based on the information provided in the video, the Superior weighs in a few ounces less than the Lone Peak, has a zero drop sole (19mm stack height according to iRunFar), and has a removable rock plate. Lack of flexibility has been a complaint about the Lone Peak, so hopefully the latter feature will improve the Superior in this area. The Superior should be available later this month – it’s available for pre-order at Patton Gleason’s Natural Running Store.
For more information, watch the video:
Will you be road testing a pair? Im curious about these!
Don’t have them, not sure if/when I will test.

I like the stack height on this one.
If you test, please info on stack height, flexibility and ground feel. I already like the wide base and durability of Altra, but I am not sold yet.
