Quick post – just wanted to pass along a link to a post I published yesterday on the dailymile Community Blog that featured a preview of some of the minimalist and barefoot style running shoes set to be released in the next few months. It’s a very superficial overview of shoes from Altra, Merrell, New Balance, and Saucony, but it gives a sense of some of the exciting things will be arriving soon in a store near you!

I’m looking forward to the Minimus Trails here – got word from my local running store that they’ll be in stock the first of February. I’ll also be glad (come the end of the week) to not have to wear the thick training shoes that I use when we get ice /snow here ( I’ve a pair of old Speedstars that I use with sheet-metal screw studs on the bottom for ice traction, midsoles thick enough to hold the screws).
I’m still trying to figure out how you got that video of your daughter’s feet – mini tripod or camera resting on the ground?
I have a mini-tripod – just told her to run toward the camera and had the camera zoomed and focused on a particular spot.
Hope you have better luck with the Minimus Trail than I did. I really want to like that shoe!
I might have expected a mention of the GoLite Tara Lite in this post. This new shoe seems like a logical member of this list. And Pete, they are a New Hampshire company!
Oops, big omission on my part! I had just emailed them recently about
samples too. You’ll be hearing about that shoe form me at some point
in the not too distant future.

I put myself on GoLite’s email list to be notified when the Tara Lite was available. I got a note today indicating that they are now accepting pre-orders for a 01 February shipment.
I received another note from GoLite today. Price of the Tara Lite will be $115. They will ship to folks who pre-order in early February. Then, they will fill their retail orders. Then in early March, after the pre-orders & retail orders are filled, it will be available at their factory store in Newmarket, New Hampshire.
As i understand what i read on their site, this shoe will have an internal sandal thong. i guess it ends up being a covered sandal, sort of. That would mean that if socks are worn, they would need to be Injinji.
Got an email from them as well. Looks like they are already selling out via
pre-orders – said their second batch will not arrive until a bit later.

This is a great blog. I was surfing through the internet and found this amazing blog. I really liked the idea of these running shoes and would like getting a pair for myself soon.
