I generally don’t write full posts about shoe sales (not sure how I feel about doing this more often – is it helpful to be alerted of these things?), but I got an email from adidas today indicating that they would be running a 20% off sale from September 7 to September 14. This discount applies to any running shoe sold on adidas.com (includes free shipping on orders over $50), including one of my current favorite shoes, the adidas adipure Gazelle (see red shoe above).
I reviewed the Gazelle a few weeks ago, and have since put a bunch more miles on it – it’s honestly one of the best shoes I’ve run in for a long time. Super comfortable, flexible, and just enough cushion for running both long and fast on the roads – durability after 50+ miles has been great. With the discount, the $100 price tag drops to $80, which isn’t too bad for a running shoe these days. I also just received a pair of the 8mm drop adidas Motion (see blue shoe above), which is also part of the “natural running series.” The Motion is also incredibly comfortable, and I suspect it might become my top pick as a mild step-down shoe for someone moving away from traditional 12mm drop shoes – stay tuned for a review!.

That’s kind of how I always felt – use the sidebars for this stuff. Don’t plan on making a habit of it for sure, but thought I’d give it a try and ask for feeback.

Taking delivery of the Adipure Five Fingers style shoe In a few days as it’s been received well here in the UK by some Vibram users.
Genuinely looking forward to trying these out.
Don’t understand why the blue ones cost $20 more.
A bit more structure to the sole and upper – they also have a seamless internal liner that might present a bit of a construction challenge. That’s what I’d guess regarding price difference.
