I remembered this review, so I reread it, and it helped me justify them as an impulse buy. Can’t wait to try them out, especially in wet conditions

It made me buy a pair. Actually, I’m wearing them right now. 😁
Sounds like I need to check out these trail Adidas as well!

I’ve had really good luck with Gore-Tex for winter runs, and running trails in the rain, but I’ve never fully immersed them in water knowing I wouldn’t like the outcome. So you have me rethinking the drainage issue since I have several pair of Adizero Boost Parleys and some Supernova Boosts. But I never tried any Adidas trail shoes, so I might give these a try for running and hiking where I know I’ll need to get my feet completely wet.

Comment on Running With My Daughter – A Bit of an Update to My Favorite Blog Post by David Dack https://runblogger.com/2021/07/running-with-my-daughter-a-bit-of-an-update-to-my-favorite-blog-post.html#comment-1131037124 Wed, 07 Jul 2021 08:14:24 +0000 https://runblogger.com/?p=2187849#comment-1131037124 I really love this post especially the last part. It’s true, as we get older, our focus slowly shifts from ourselves to our kids and family. That’s a sign of being mature and responsible.

I hope Emma gets to attain her goals. And please keep up posted on her progress.

Good luck

David Dack

Yes, no regrets. Absolutely love teaching high school, and becoming a coach has added a new element of joy to my life. Having my own kids as both students and athletes is just the cherry on top :)

Comment on Running With a Leg Length Discrepancy: Help A Fellow Runner by Louise https://runblogger.com/2010/09/running-with-leg-length-discrepancy.html#comment-1131033002 Thu, 27 May 2021 04:37:19 +0000 http://localhost/runblogger/wordpress/?p=563#comment-1131033002 In reply to Rick.

I also have a leg length discrepancy of 2cm! Not visible to others but very to me. It took me years to have it diagnosed and up until then I suffered back spasms and most notably when running or doing a lot of walking a burning sensation in my hip. I’ve also suffered knee problems since teenage years on the longer side and weakness in the longer side. It makes a huge difference having an LLD above a certain length and running/ walking / high activity levels of that sort make it worse unless properly addressed, do to the consistent way in which the entire pelvic girdle is thrown out of alignment. The best solution for me has been as @Hodie said – to elevate the shorter leg with a FLAT sole. If the lady in Angela’s query wants to run barefoot as possible I recommend well fitting water barefoot shoes which are stretchy , and allow a double insole to be placed in the shoe, the other worn without insole.

Comment on The Mysterious Sleeping Injury by Greg https://runblogger.com/2019/07/the-mysterious-sleeping-injury.html#comment-1131031627 Sat, 15 May 2021 00:58:26 +0000 https://runblogger.com/?p=2186335#comment-1131031627 As you’ve detailed in your previous minimalist shoe reviews, too much cushion can be a bad thing. Ever considered sleeping on a harder mattress, which would promote movement as you sleep? Regarding back / hip issues, if you sit a lot for work etc, a kneeling chair could give you some benefits. The hip position is much more relaxed and the effects go all the way up to your head and shoulders. Kneeling chairs still put most of the weight on your bottom, so you’re not putting a lot of pressure on your knees. Finally, maybe you’d enjoy keeping a kettlebell at home for workouts. It’s an extremely functional workout tool and you can see improvements in your balance thanks to the swinging motion of some exercises. The “Enter the Kettlebell” Pavel Tsatsouline video is up on YouTube and shows all the fundamentals. Thanks for your great reviews and tips over the years!

I’m choosing between Response TR Boost and Adizero XT, also reviewed by you here. Which one of these two do you recommend, how do they compare? Greetings,

Comment on Running Shoes and Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITBS): One Runner’s Story by Beverly https://runblogger.com/2012/03/running-shoes-and-iliotibial-band.html#comment-1131029292 Thu, 15 Apr 2021 01:55:23 +0000 http://localhost/runblogger/wordpress/?p=341#comment-1131029292 In reply to Kleinruns.

Hi. I’m not a runner nor have I ever been, but I have experienced ITBS now for 1yr.. Injections haven’t helped much even though the knotted area at left anterior side of knee cap is less knotted. I have numbness above left knee across top of knee cap across thigh diagonally.
I wear slip on Clark’s as I’m too old to bend and tie shoes. I bought Hush Puppies slip on shoe that has Bounce Removable Inner Sole and it seemed to help. I wake up with IT Band tight.
I sit with legs elevated but then walk barefooted to my table to work or stand at sink. I had 2 consecutive sessions at PT, Therapist has 2 PhD’s in PT. Very informed and tried multiple exercises. Even she saw the knotted area did not relax even with Roller, massage and Ultrasonic device. So, I have had 3 Injections over 90days. I saw that some persons that have Interstim II, neuro-stimulator at sacral nerve have developed left leg pain. Do you have any experience with anyone having developed ITBS due to implant?
2 Consecutive 8 week sessions @2-3 times per week.

I own a horse farm in Texas and really into running. I think I found the really great challenge for 2021:)))) Hope I win the race versus one of my horses.
