They did another article not long before that one about what podiatrists think of Chuck Taylors. Saying things like the lack of support causes flat feet and other such nonsense.

Any past or current member of fastrunningblog.com knows that Sasha Pachev, the site’s founder, runs (almost?) exclusively in Crocs (as do his many, many children). And he’s not just jogging around out there–I’ve seen him run marathons in the low 2:30s with Crocs on his feet. If anecdotes are evidence, it seems pretty clear that Crocs make people run faster :).

In fairness to “podiatrists”, that Huffington Post piece was not what “podiatrists” think; it was what a couple of individual podiatrists that they interviewed think. They do not represent the views of “podiatrists”. No podiatry organisation has a position statement or official view on crocs.

You forgot to mention that your wife, who has seriously messed up feet, can only where shoes with ridiculously wide toe-boxes (enter Crocs). I know they’re ugly. I know I’m not hip wearing them! But, they are one of the only pairs of shoes I can find that DON’T hurt my poor, pathetic feet. I’ll spare all a photo!
