In 1978 I bought a pair of blue Brooks vantage. The feel was so soft. I could run and run. Around town people sometimes would call me a marathon man because it was so invigorating in those shoes. I was a black belt and could do jumps and land quite well in them. The best shoe ever in my opinion.

Then there was Speedo for swimming, Converse for basketball and my Brooks Vantage Supremes for running… often long distance training running with a cross country team or track team to help them work out !

They were great, but nothing topped the Brooks RT-1. Now THAT was a shoe!

I loved the outsole with the triangle wedges….nothing ever got caught in them like so many of the complex outsoles of today…..that’s what 39 years of running will get you….
