I know the roads are the closet to being bare but does the trails still seem like your close to bein bare? basically are they good for flat runs too, and how well do you get for feet breathing?

Hi Jay,
I have a bit of an odd foot with bunions…
The slit toe pocket straightens the big toe out so, for it, there is probably a quarter inch room and a half inch for the other 4-toe box. It does not bother me on the downhills, since the toe split keeps the toes from being crammed in the front.

I ordered a pair of B2Rs as well after reading this review. I went a half size smaller than my Altra Instinct and the fit is good.

Christian, how much room do you have between your big toe and the front of the shoes? Half and inch?

Hi Paul,
on the trail model, the upper is more dense and less airy and the toe cleft more “solid”.
Overall, while both shoes definitely have common roots, the trail performance feels every bit like an optimized sophomore effort.

I read this review and sent out right away for a pair and after two runs, I am totally impressed ! What a sweet spot they have… they really pop !

I defiantly recommend a pair!

I have the red pair, which have been pretty good, but cold slush gets between my toes on runs. That makes a chilly run a bit colder in Rochester, NY.

Hi Ben.
I have put a few hundred miles on a Topo RR and while it is considered a lightweight road racer, I consider it similar in terms of directional correction on the first toe. In fact, I’d say the Topo RR is a bit stiffer than the trail performance because the upper is very dense. For both shoes, a bit more straightening than in a Vibram FiveFinger Bikila since those are very soft.

PS: B2R will do free UPS returns.

That makes me feel a little better! I wonder how these compare with Topo Atheletic’s split-toe models. Even though the width may be okay, it still looks like these would push your big toe over, since it’s angled that way. Wish there were a place to try them on locally!

Hi Vitor,
I am a big fan of the Minimus Line and the MR00 is a go-to road shoe for me.
I totally agree that there is no one RIGHT shoe for everyone since people’s feet and trails are so different.
Enjoy the MT00s!

Christian
