Would love to read more of your blogging thoughts Pete, and I agree completely that reviews bring the traffic, but more personal and unique posts build the brand ( and are more fun to write). Though I get a lot of traffic (especially from referrals and shares) out of how-to posts.

It reminds me of the early '00s when there were all sorts of site indexes and link circles and sharing sites. Now it seems tougher than it should be, relying on building an audience largely through social media platforms without using up the goodwill of friends and acquaintances. I recently launched a Canadian multi-author blog (just getting off the ground with a couple of us) and it's a darn near full time job promoting it. *sigh* A site like Run Radar would be awesome. Let me know if I can help promote it.
