Apparently they had an issue in manufacturing them with a tool they use and the unique upper for the shoe so they had size up and use the midsole/outsole from the 1/2 size larger for each shoe. I know this pretty well because I was bummed when I initially heard they were dropping the size 14 on the Winter 110 (I’m a 14 in the regular 110). I ended up trying the size 13 just for kicks and it fit like a 14. Compared them to my original 14s and they were the same size outsole so they actually fit me perfect and that explained why they had no 14; they used the midsole/outsole 14 molds for the size 13 (since no 13.5, therefore the 13 are a full size big). Probably most wouldn’t notice if they use a thick sock in winter. I still run sockless in these unless it is single digits and they are plenty warm though. Always enjoy the review and articles Pete. Keep up the good work!

I wear the winter version in my normal size, and am pleased with the fit, though I have to pull the laces a bit tighter than normal to get a snug fit.

The bootie rubbed my skin raw for the first couple weeks (on the top of my ankle), badly enough that I had to wear bandages until I healed. Be prepared for some adjustments to the feeling of material on skin that normally does not come in contact with rubber or nylon.

I wear them every day, which means the shoes are often wet and smelly inside. My skin has toughened up where the bootie chafed the hell out of it, and I have never once even considered my feet cold. I am pleased with the sole’s grip, though I was a bit astonished to see how quickly the midsole tread diamonds are wearing down, since I have barely run on any pavement.

Overall, I’m very pleased though, and I’d buy them again, though hopefully these will last a few winters.

I worried about chafe around the ankle, but no issues for me yet. Guess it probably depends on calf girth relative to the collar size.
