I prefer to think that the commercial shows a kid who is trying to take control of his health by starting to run. I know a lot of people, myself included, who have done so. Pretty depressing outlook you have….

Here is an interesting read

Nathan does not jog or run….but maybe he will now and be a messenger. would love to see a 6 month follow up. He needs to fix what he eats and get rid of all the simple carbs, fast fats, and processed stuff as the cornerstone of his living if he is to succeed. I am a doc in West Virginia so see this daily.

From what I have read. This kid is just an actor, He had to stop on the first take to get sick.. He represents a major issue in this country… childhood obesity.. If he keeps with it and gets into shape it is a great story.. Until then there is nothing inspirational about it. Many people start out to get into shape only to give up. But if this commercial inspires even one person to get into shape, it’s a success.

That would create unrealistic expectations and propagate the myth that running alone (and Nike shoes) can help you loose weight/become fitter. Glad they didn’t go that route.

A lot is possible in 4 years.

I don’t see any greatness, just a fat slob. That kid is endemic of everything that is wrong with out lazy vidiot society today.

What is so great about being 100 lbs overweight and then plodding down a road for 1/4 mile????? He is not like a soldger who lost a leg in Iraq but continues to run on prosthesis.

Here is some greatness
