I’m actually a big fan of the beveled heel – as long as it’s flat under the base of the calcaneus the heel should come down fine. I actually think it’s a lot more like the shape of he human heel than most shoes.

Sure, if you are over-striding and heel striking, it may help you roll forward from heel to toe more smoothly. But if you have a natural foot strike, the beveled heel is going to get in the way of proper mechanics. When I tried a beveled heel shoe on, I noticed my weight never felt like it moved back to my heel after my forefoot touched down. Instead, all my weight went uncomfortably to my arch before toeing off again.

Less material underfoot than the Kinvara to provide spring. If you want springy the Brooks Pure series is one to look at.
