Their first models will be a road shoe, a mountain shoe, and a true minimalist shoe, coming in April! I know these guys well – they really know their stuff and have done countless iterations to make sure their shoes are truly amazing. http://altrarunning.com/

Low drop from heel to toe is cool, but it does not seem all that minimal compared to what many other companies are offering at this point.

RunningWarehouse has a slightly more detailed video: http://www.flotrack.org/videos

I’ve also heard reports that the next incarnation of the Fastwitch will take on a 4mm drop. Sounds promising.

The midsole heights for the MT100/101 are 18mm in the heel and 8 mm in the forefoot. Anyone that has run in it can tell you it does not feel like a 10 mm heel drop at all, even Anton says this.
I can’t wait to try the Altra and Saucony Peregrine.

Also dont forget that the A86 from Keen comes up in a couple of weeks, which should be a nice shoe from the reviews that I have read. It only has a 3mm heel to toe drop from what I have read, but I am not sure if that is accurate or not.

Go to there website and search glove. I will place a link but I am not sure if it will work or not.

Pete, your post about the Altra trail says it has an 7mm midsole. Do you happen to know what the midsole on the New Balance MT100/101 is?

Agreed – I have a post on Altra linked in the sidebar – good guys and looks
to be a great product!

I have to have a ceirtain weight on my feet, it feels better.

The Flotrack/RW video of the Fastwitch does confirm a 4mm drop.

Just bought a pair of the MT 101’s myself, first run yesterday was fun
– heel is there, but does feel less than 10mm. I measured with
C-calipers and got 24mm heel and 15.5mm forefoot for 8.5mm drop when
you include the insole and outsole.

Not that it’s a bad thing — it’s one of the downfalls of the Kinvara in my book that so much of the forefoot is nothing but exposed midsloe. Hopefully this shoe has a firmer midsole… The video itself could have used some better lighting and more actual viewing of the shoe itself.

Good news about the Fastwitch – that was my first ever racing shoe.
Haven’t bought again due to the standard heel.
