Not sure about the Peregrine. If you want something firmer and closer to the
ground, the Mizuno Wave Universe or Saucony Grid Type A4 might be better
choices for road shoes, and I have heard good things about the NB MT101 as a
Trail shoe. You will probably alse like the New Balance Minimus shoes – the
Road version is very firm, and the Trail rides very close to the ground with
only a 4mm drop from heel to forefoot.

May have spoken too soon. Will anxiously await their release.

Thanks for the response i’ve tried both the others you mentioned, both great just not completely trail oriented. i really like your reviews and website. i was just wondering have you ever reviewed any salomon shoes? i’m not trying to sell anything but those xa 3d ultra pros i mentioned are amazing in feel and comfort and when i put one of those on and a kinvara on the other foot i can’t tell whether or not the salomon has an difference in heel drop and the salomon certainly, feels, like it rides lower.

Unfortunately it has the same arch support as the Kinvara.

I haven’t reviewed any Salomon shoes unfortunately – hopefully I get to try
them out at some point.
