Have you reset your fall marathon goal time based on that long run?

Ernesto – My sense is that my body is better suited to the 5K distance, but my mind is really focused on the marathon. However, marathon days are so unpredictable, that I’m not really sure what to shoot for. A BQ would be incredible, but that requires a sub 3:15:59, which is over 20 minutes faster than my marathon time from the Spring in VT. I’m sure I can cut some time off that, just not sure how much. I’ve been debating whether to go for it in Hartford, or to hold back and use Hartford as a long training run in prep for a try in Manchester in November. I’m also now debating whether to add the Disney Marathon in January into the mix. My leaning right now is to go for broke in the hometown race since I know the course like the back of my
hand. We’ll see!
