Running for even an hour in this heat can be straining, but 100 miles… now that’s superhuman!

I’ve seen pretty gruesome videos of battered feet on YouTube, I think they were parts from The Distance of Truth, and they’re enough to scare me away from participating in the race (not that I’m even remotely prepared for such a challenge right now). But then again, it is a small price to pay for such an achievement!

It’s on my list of things to accomplish before I get old and die — Hopefully I’ll actually be able to achieve it someday. For now, I just watch the coverage of the race and am in awe of those out there. Farinazzo’s time breaks down to like 10:30/mile. That’s quite impressive for the distance, but when you consider the heat and elevation climb too, holy cow. Thanks for sharing the link to the documentaries. Looking forward to seeing them.

How someone could run 135 miles is beyond me, then add in the conditions of death valley and it just blows my mind.
