Your kids must be 9 and 11 now! We are taking our 4 and 7 year old girls to Monadnock next weekend. I think we will take the same approach as you and just see how far they make it. However, I don’t think we can carry our 45 lb 4 yr old on those steep trails very far, so we’ll just have to see how she does! Thanks again!

I highly recommend Monadnock – it can be crowded but there are beautiful views above the treeline. It’s amazing what climbing a mountain can do for the confidence of a child – they were both so proud to have nearly made it to the top!
