I am humbled by your disgusting and blistered foot picture. You are the man. Maybe someday I too will share that type of pain.

Seriously, GREAT JOB!!!!

I have my first marathon coming up November 24th in Kansas. Your story is so inspiring and you go down in my books right next to Prefontaine. You’re a hero and I can’t wait to see another one of your blogs after you qualify for Boston!
Thanks for the inspiration, incredible once again

Just as long as the outfit that guy is wearing in picture 14 isn’t a race requirement.

I lived in Burlington for 2 and 1/2 years so I hear you and “we could stay and live in Burlington forever”, I could too!
Congrats on your achievement… VT is truly a beautiful state and to be able to sit in front of the lake while you kids play, is simply priceless! I just hope I make it over with my kids so I can show them where I left a part of my heart!

Thoroughly enjoyed reading it! I ran the full marathon in 2008 but could fully appreciate your report as I ran the relay as a two person team (“One more Beer”) with my husband so I recall the weather changes that you described ; ) Both my husband and I run although he has qualified and run Boston at least 6x, I have not qualified. Like your wife I also enjoy yoga and practice Ashtanga yoga 4-5x/week. Do you do strength training with your running? If so what do you do? (curious). Also, you may wish to consider doing the Disney marathon weekend – great getaway for the family. My husband and I are doing the “Goofy challenge” this year (half marathon followed by full the next day).
Anyway, good luck with your training. All the best to your family.

Terrific report !!! I’ve felt like I was back there again. Don’t get me wrong, I love Burlington and would love to live there, too.

Alett,

Thanks for the comment – I did the VT full in both 2008 and 2009, so I was
there both times you were. I’m actually already signed up for Disney 2010,
so I’ll be doing that one as well – whole family is heading down for the
week. No Goofy challenge this time though. I haven’t done much in the way
of strength training, but just recently restarted the 100 Pushups challenge
– great program put together by an on-line friend – you can check it out
here: http://hundredpushups.com/.

Thanks again for stopping by the blog!
Pete
