What shoes are you running in now? Do you know if you’re a forefoot striker or heel striker?

Hello Pete! Thanks for your prompt reply. I am a fore/mid-foot striker, and I am currently running in Saucony ProGrid Guide 5.

Have you always been a forefoot striker? Sometimes when people work on altering stride they over-exaggerate their foot strike and this can lead to trouble. The Guide 5 is a pretty cushy shoe so I would be surprised if it’s a shoe issue.

I love your blog. I am a female runner, clocking about 30kms per week (3
days x 10kms). Usually at about 8km mark, my forefeet would begin to feel like its
burning – bearable but really uncomfortable. What would help with this? Is there a shoe that you would recommend that will help with this problem?
