My wife has been on my case for months to read Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. The book, by Laura Hillenbrand (author of Seabiscuit), tells the story of Louis Zamperini, a runner who competed in the 5000m at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. The book tells the story of […]
I received an email today from Ben Watts, who is the Associate Producer of a film called 100: HEAD/HEART/FEET that will chronicle one runner’s 3rd attempt to complete the Vermont 100 Endurance Race. Ben asked if I could share the trailer to the film and spread the word about their Kickstarter campaign supporting the production. […]

Just came across this trailer for a new movie that’s coming out about running in Kenya – looks fantastic! Definitely on my must watch list. ITEN – The Town of RED Dust Teaser Trailer from Erik O’Neill on Vimeo.
This trailer for Unbreakable, a movie about the 2010 Western States 100 ultramarathon, has been making the rounds recently. Figured I’d share it here as well as it’s one of those clips that really makes you want to head out for a long trail run. The movie is due to be released this Fall.
Marathon Monday is perhaps the biggest day of the year for endurance runners, but if you don’t get a chance to watch the race in Boston, this video might just be the next best thing: Spirit of the Marathon.

Here’s the trailer: Hood To Coast Trailer from […]

The other night I watched a documentary called “The Long Green Line.” The movie tells the story of the York High School cross-country team (from Elmhurst, IL, outside of Chicago) and their legendary coach Joe Newton during the 2005 Cross Country season as they try to bring home their 25th state title in 50 years. […]

I just discovered that Marathon Challenge can be watched on-line for free and in high-quality on YouTube: Very briefly, Marathon Challenge is an inspirational story that follows 13 formerly sedentary runners […]
Every once in awhile I need a little jolt to remind me why it is that I put myself through the physical and emotional punishment involved in training for and running marathons. A good movie is one thing that can accomplish this for me. When compared to other sports, the selection of running movies is […]
