blister and calluses from minimalist running

Is it common to have calluses or the beginning of blisters just outside the little toe mound when forefoot/midfoot striking. The reason is that i have been getting it on the outer edge of my little toe mound and i saw a picture of Craig Alexanders feet and he displayed signs of this too is it anything unusal? (im not comparing myself to Crowie is any way but I watch the slow mo of his run and he ia a midfoot runner)

fyi: running in Kinvaras and pureflow

  • If you are really forcing a forefoot landing you may be creating friction in that area, thus the blister/callus. I've seen people who blow out the upper in that area, so it is not uncommon.
