Time For a New Shoe Rack!

My racks at home are full, and the images below don’t include the full box ready to go to Soles 4 Souls, the rack in my bedroom closet, or the bookcase-full that I brought to work as demos. Yes, I have a problem, and that Brooks Green Silence seems to be missing its partner…

Gotta show this to my wife…my shoe fetish is nothing like yours.

  2. no Nikes? At least no Nike Frees.

  3. DannyDingus says:

    first world problems

  4. DutchGirl says:

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I was feeling guilty about having bought a pair of running shoes this weekend when I did not actually NEED another pair. OK, almost guilty.
    Guilt’s all gone now. :-)

  5. Louise Bourque Cunningham says:

Gonna make sure my husband sees that you are way worse than me!! (Oh yeh.. and I caught it from you!) ;)

  6. Surfing Vol says:

    Wow, Imelda. I mean, wow.

  7. kokopelli says:

I think you’re normal. Everyone else is insane.

  8. BryanEW710 says:

I’m in the wrong line of work.

  9. Brad Patterson says:

It appears you are missing a Green Silence. It looks like the GS is the only pair with just 1 shoe. You better hunt that baby down!! (I just ran a half marathon PR this past weekend in that fantastic shoe)

  10. Brad Patterson says:

Is it a bad sign that I can identify the brand and model of most of those shoes by just looking at them from behind?? :-)

    • BryanEW710 says:

During my time in running shoe retail, I could do the same. Now that I’ve started keeping up with running blogs, I’ve gotten good at it again.

  11. Ashwyn Gray says:

Now I don’t feel so bad.
Hey, wouldn’t it be fun to organize these by color?

  12. Brian Hazard says:

The guy at my local running shop tried to convince me not to stock up on my favorite shoe a few years back, because he claimed the rubber would break down over time, in storage – in new unused shoes! Crazy? If not, I suppose much of your collection is “worn out”!

  13. Aaron Grenz says:

Of course you have a problem…choosing which pair of shoes to put on every time you go out for a run. If I were in your position, it would take me 2-3 hours just to pick out the pair of shoes to wear on a 1 hour run.

I’m sure you prioritize in large part based on shoes you need to review, but could you share anything further as to your decision process to actually select which pair to wear when you head out?

  14. This definitely should have been a contest – how many can you identify!

  15. So the Go bionic 2’s are the red ones on the two different shelves?

  16. Damn……why can’t you be a size 13!

  17. kellydomara says:

There’s no way you can even run enough to use all these shoes.

    • Pete Larson says:

True, very true. Some are one and done development samples, and for reviews I shoot for 20-30 miles in order to handle the volume of footwear. Can usually peg a shoe in one run, but sometimes things change so I try to avoid that for the reviews on the blog.
