Quick post to alert you to a preview of the Saucony Mirage 3 over at the Running Warehouse blog. I reviewed the original Saucony Mirage a few years back and found it to be a solid option as a transitional running shoe. Version 3 of the Mirage is a complete redesign that strips about an ounce of weight from the shoe and adds both increased flexibility and a beveled heel similar to that on the Kinvara 3.

I’ve been running in the Mirage 2 for over 6 months now. I was excited about this new version, but I think I’m done ‘transitioning’ and ready for a true minimalist shoe. New Balance zero-drop or Merrell Bare Access here I come.
There’s a new Bare Access on the way – should have a review sample this week!

I don’t understand (well, I do from a marketing standpoint) why shoe companies just give a shoe another number when it’s “completely redesigned.” I love the original Mirage and recently started running in a pair of Mirage 2, but the overhaul makes me hesitant to just go grab the 3.
