Race Video: 2010 Krispy Kreme Challenge

This morning saw the 2010 running of the annual Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh NC. For those unfamiliar with it, this race involves running 2 miles to a Krispy Kreme doughnut store, eating 12 doughnuts as fast as possible, then running the two miles back to the starting line. According to the Krispy Kreme Challenge race website, they expected 6000 runners to participate in the challenge this year!  Below is a video that was posted by Rob B. at Happy Moose Videos, who is a fellow dailymiler and member of BrooksID who ran the race and lived to document it on video. Hope you enjoy it!

  1. Bob (Downtown Runner) says:

The intersection of running and competitive eating. What will they think of next?

I think I’d prefer something that involved Starbucks (5 miles, then 3 espressos, then back), Outback Steakhouse (5K, then 2 bloomin onions, 5K back), or (10K, 20 White Castle burgers, 10K back). Or maybe not.

  2. Yeck!

I can’t even eat 2 donuts. I’ve been a runner my whole life but I would not even want to try this.
